August 21st is Solar Eclipse Day. There will be plenty of places to watch the daytime turn into the night time. Skywatchers across the globe will be celebrating this event.
You should NEVER look directly without protective gear – even if you wear sun glasses. Mr. Siamese will be wearing eclipse glasses. Not just any glasses will do, they must be ISO 12312-2, the new international standard according to Rick Fienberg, the American Astronomical Society (AAS) press officer.
